Side Story, In the Future

  

      I stood watching Stiles as he picked up our one year old baby girl. I was holding Sammy, our three year old son. He had no idea we were watching him. "Shhh." Sammy whispered holding his finger on his lips. I giggled quietly, and put him down to wander out to the living room. He was holding Sophia and talking to her, as her big blue eyes looked at him in wonder. I walked into the room, slipping my arm around his waist. "After so much we've gone through. I still can't believe we're here." He whispered as we studied our second child. I smiled softly at Sophia and then kissed his cheek.


      A crash and a cry from the living room caused us to run out, to see a very upset looking Sammy. He had somehow managed to knock over the white lamp. "Oh my gosh! Is he cut?" I gasped, trying to run to him. Stiles grabbed my arm and pointed. "He didn't do it." I looked at the ground. The lamp had been very white, and the glass on the rug, which was spread in a circle around him, was off white.


      "Where'd the lamp go?" I muttered, and then a sound in the kitchen made me jump. Stiles rolled his eyes and groaned as he grabbed the baseball bat that had saved me many years ago. "Really?" I asked, stepping closer to Sam, picking him up, and setting him down in Sophia's room, closing the door. I crept around the corner and looked at the creature standing before me. 


         She had huge eyes, filled entirely in black, and her hair long and blonde, her lips red. Oh shit. a Siren. As I turned to warn Stiles,  she opened her mouth and let out a song, that was high pitched, and I groaned seeing him start walking towards me with the bat. "Stiles." He raised it. "Stiles?" He swung. Missed. "STILES?!!" Swung again and he hit me. I dropped and held my head. Suddenly there was a roar, and a crashing sound through the front windows. Stiles fell backwards, and I saw Scott and Tamara. Tamara, wacked the girl on the head with the bat Stiles had dropped.

          I was still sitting on the ground when they came over and helped me up. "Mommy!" Sammy toddled over to me with tears on his cheeks. I hugged him, and he patted my head. "You have a boo boo." I giggled and kissed his tear stained cheek. "Mommy's ok baby." Stiles had a terrified look on his face. Then he walked outside, and I handed Sammy to Aunty Tamara. And ran after him. "Wait Stiles!" He stopped, and turned. "I hit you. I made you bleed." I grabbed him, and kissed him. 

   
         "Honey, you didn't do it. The siren did. Stiles! Look at me." He did and I kissed him. That night was the best night since we'd been married.
